ParSU welcomes back Dr. Rafe M. Brown, a distinguished Fulbright Visiting Scholar and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology professor at the University of Kansas (KU), who will spend five months conducting research and serve as an adjunct professor at ParSU College of Sustainable Communities and Ecosystems (Caramoan Campus).ย 

Accompanied by Dianna Kresja (KU Mammalogy Collection Manager), Vicente de Jesus Castilla Chora (National Autonomous University of Mexico, Graduate Studies), Bailey Dixon and Chase Perkins (KU Post-Baccalaureate Students), and Danny Ibanez (KU Graduate Student), Dr. Brown will engage in collaborative research on biodiversity, conservation, and amphibian and reptile taxonomy in the Bicol Region. The team, together with selected faculty and staff of ParSU Caramoan, is set to have a two-week scientific expedition to conduct a biodiversity survey in Mt. Isarog Natural Park and Caramoan National Park, where they will have the chance to explore and gain potential discoveries.ย 

With this, ParSU President Arnel B. Zarcedo, EDEL, emphasized the significance of this activity in nurturing, reinforcing, and deepening partnerships that already brought immense value to the university. He then reminded everyone to take this as an opportunity for shared learning, exploration, and growth. " Let us advance together in pursuing academic excellence, meaningful collaboration, and international partnership." he ended.

Moving forward, ParSU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Concurrent Dean of ParSU Caramoan Dr. Michael A. Clores presented the academic collaboration agenda which aims to strengthen research collaboration, enhance biodiversity studies, capacitate the ParSU community with training and workshops, promote conservation initiatives, facilitate academic and scientific publications, support student research and development, and strengthen institutional partnerships. Dr. Clores then highlighted that this continuous engagement with KU is essential to the university's vision to take ParSU to greater heights internationally. ย 

On a different note, Dr. Brown expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and displayed enthusiasm to meet students and enlighten the latter, especially about those covered by his field of expertise. He then encouraged everyone to make this an interdisciplinary collaboration to attain a more sustainable community. ย 

As ParSU withstands this another milestone, it looks forward to the advancements Dr. Brown and his team will bring to the ParSU community. Through a shared vision, collaboration, and consistency, ParSU stays positive that it will continue to provide quality education, advance in bio-resource science, and promote sustainable and resilient communities that will be known globally.ย

Partido State University (ParSU) partakes in the Philippines-Taiwan Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing and Collaboration Meeting hosted and initiated by the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture in Pili, Camarines Sur. This significant event formalizes the academic partnership between Bicol State Universities and Colleges, Local Universities and Colleges, Higher Education Institutions, Senior High Schools, the Chinese University of Science and Technology (CUST), and Yuanpei University of Medical Technology (YUMT) from Taiwan.

The MOU plays a vital role in ParSU's efforts to strengthen its global partnerships to enhance opportunities for its students, faculty, and staff. Stipulated in the agreements was the promotion of academic activities, such as the exchange of faculty and staff members, the exchange of students, the exchange of publications and other academic information, joint research, lectures, and symposia, collaborative academic programs that may involve cultural activities and field visits, and joint collaborative grant proposals.ย 

Thus, this five-year partnership will serve as an avenue for the development of innovative programs through international collaborations that, in the long run, will take ParSU's brand a step higher in the global arena.ย 

Present during the event were CUST President Dr. Jong Tar Kou, International Affairs Director Joseph Lee, CEO Ying Jye Huang, and YUMT President Prof. Chi-Kang Wang. ย ParSU was represented by President Arnel B. Zarcedo, EDEL, International Affairs Director Ms. Leih Anne R. Odoรฑo, Office of Student Affairs Dean Ms. Marieta P. Palmes, alongside officials from other participating institutions.ย

To empower local communities in sustainable coastal management, Partido State University (ParSU) has partnered with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) and formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Under a DOST-funded research project, this collaboration aims to promote coastal resource conservation activities through the social capital approach, utilizing public goods experiments to engage local communities in sustainable practices.

DOST-PCAARRD, established to coordinate and promote research and development in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sectors, has long been dedicated to fostering sustainable development through research. It collaborates with stakeholders, including local government units, state universities and colleges, and private sector partners, to implement research initiatives addressing key sectoral challenges.

In line with this, the partnership between ParSU, DOST-PCAARRD, and other collaborators, including Kochi University and the Department of Agriculture โ€“ Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, aims to advance coastal resource conservation efforts further.

This MOA reflects the shared vision of promoting sustainable practices in coastal areas, focusing on fostering community involvement and collaboration in resource conservation.

With this, ParSU remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing research and innovation that directly supports local communities and continues to align its efforts to contribute to sustainable development through research and community engagement.

To strengthen budget integrity and ensure transparent and responsible financial management, ParSU holds a two-day Orientation & Training on Budget Monitoring System (BMS) Automation - Phase 1, with resource speaker Mr. Gilbert C. Morong from the Department of Education Central Office and the creator of BMS.ย 


ParSU President Arnel B. Zarcedo, EDEL, expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative as the BMS will allow the university to generate timely, accurate, and reliable financial reports at par with the standards of the regulatory bodies. He then reminded the participants that this would entail commitment, cooperation, and openness to change. "Embrace this opportunity enthusiastically to contribute to the successful implementation of this vital system," he ended.ย 


Day 1 will focus on discussing the BMS fundamentals, followed by an open forum where participants can engage in discussions, ask for clarifications, and gain deeper insights regarding the BMS.ย 


Moving forward, Day 2 will feature a BMS demonstration, allowing participants to explore its practical applications for efficient budget tracking and ensure that they are equipped with the technical know-how of the BMS.ย 


With this innovation, ParSU reaffirms its commitment to serving the community with dignity, accountability, and excellence through continuous improvement and innovation of its systems. ย

With the aim of integrating volunteerism into education, Partido State University (ParSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), a government agency under the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), reflecting a shared commitment to fostering volunteerism as a driving force for nation-building and community development.

This partnership paves the way for ParSU to strengthen its community outreach programs, improve its engagement efforts, boost its culture of volunteerism that supports the PNVSCA's advocacy, and offer capacity-building initiatives to help develop a more socially responsible and active academic community. ย 

Through this initiative, the university remains true to its mission of shaping individuals who are not just academically competent but also committed to making a positive difference in society.ย
