Partido State University recognizes the active participation of Ms. Yolda T. Abante, MRM, MAN, OIC-Dean of the College of Environmental Science and Design, together with two student delegates from the Bachelor of Science in Forestry and the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science programs, namely Janaiza B. Vargas and Shaina Mae A. Capal, in the IX International Forestry Summer Course 2025 held from August 11-26, 2025, at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Along with one student from the University of the Philippines, Los Baรฑos, ParSU delegates are honored to represent the Philippines in this esteemed international course.
With the theme "The Forest Nexus: Innovation in Food, Energy, and Water Sustainability," the course will feature activities to deepen understanding of tropical forest management as a holistic solution for food security, renewable energy, and clean water access. Participants will explore cutting-edge innovations in forestry, such as biomass energy, agroforestry, and silvicultural engineering, while learning about forest biodiversity's critical role in ecosystem services and sustainability. The program will also foster intercultural exchange, scientific writing, and discussions geared toward expanding global academic collaborations through research, student mobility, and joint or double-degree programs.
This international engagement underscores ParSU's commitment to academic excellence and internationalization while nurturing future leaders in environmental stewardship, forestry, and sustainable development.ย
