Partido State University (ParSU) joined 77 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the country in the launch of Project PAG-IBIG (Parents Access to Growth through Inclusive, Balanced, and Innovative Guidance) Family Empowerment Center (FEC) on June 3, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to community engagement and inclusive development.ย
The initiative was formalized through the online signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and Manifesto of Commitment among participating SUCs. Led by Romblon State University (RSU), the consortium seeks to establish and strengthen FECs in higher education institutions nationwide while promoting collaboration in research, extension, capacity-building, and family development programs.
As a consortium member, ParSU will contribute to collective efforts to strengthen support systems for children, parents, students, and families through a holistic approach that integrates child care, parent care, and university care. The partnership also provides opportunities for faculty and staff development through mentoring, training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives with partner institutions.
The consortium aims to replicate and adapt RSU's FEC model, strengthen the capacities of participating SUCs, and develop evidence-based programs responsive to the evolving needs of Filipino families. Through collaboration with government agencies and other stakeholders, the initiative likewise seeks to expand access to services and resources that promote family resilience and lifelong learning.
Through research, extension, and community engagement initiatives, ParSU will support the consortium's efforts to generate knowledge, share best practices, and advance innovative and sustainable approaches to family empowerment and social development. By joining the nationwide consortium, ParSU continues to expand its impact beyond the classroom, fostering partnerships and advancing programs that strengthen families, empower communities, and advance inclusive development through education, research, extension, and public service.
