To reinforce the University's commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement, the Partido State University (ParSU) Quality Assurance Center (QAC) hosts the General Orientation and Workshop on Institutional Accreditation on January 9-10, 2025, ensuring stakeholders can effectively undergo the accreditation process.ย
Despite the shift to a hybrid format due to weather disturbances, the event pushed through, proving the resilience and dedication of the ParSU community.ย
The first day of the workshop featured Dr. Milabel E. Ho, Executive Director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). She emphasized that IA will encourage continuous improvement across all programs, services, and activities, motivating the institution to work towards global competitiveness.
In his welcome remarks, delivered on behalf of ParSU President Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo, Dr. Michael A. Clores, Vice President for Academic Affairs, urged the ParSU community to actively participate and embrace the collaborative spirit that defines the institution. He emphasized that this initiative will help the University achieve recognition and enhance its status along different areas of its mandate as a state university - instruction, research, extension, and production. "I am very confident that through our collective efforts, we will achieve a high IA level and continue to strive as a leader in this countryside." he ended.ย
Further, Dr. Ho communicated her valuable insights regarding the IA process, encouraging everyone to go beyond expectations in their roles. She then reminded participants that "IA is everybody's business" and that all University personnel, regardless of position, should be aware of its process and impact.
The first day included an overview of IA and its requirements, concluded by an afternoon session focusing on preparing the IA portfolio and the necessary documents for accreditation.
Continuing the quest for a seamless IA, the second day will focus on the Digitization and Uploading of Institutional Accreditation Documents with Mr. Dominic T. Martinez, IT Officer at AACCUP, guiding participants on effectively presenting their materials in a digital format. It will be concluded with workshops on critical areas of institutional performance, including governance and management, teaching, learning, and evaluation, faculty and staff development, research, extension, consultancy, linkages, student support services, library resources, infrastructure, and quality assurance culture.
As ParSU moves forward in its goal of internationalization, this orientation and workshop are pivotal to ensure that the University meets global quality standards. ParSU will remain steadfast in its commitment to nurturing a culture of excellence, innovation, sustainability, and international competence.ย
