To empower local communities in sustainable coastal management, Partido State University (ParSU) has partnered with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) and formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
Under a DOST-funded research project, this collaboration aims to promote coastal resource conservation activities through the social capital approach, utilizing public goods experiments to engage local communities in sustainable practices.
DOST-PCAARRD, established to coordinate and promote research and development in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sectors, has long been dedicated to fostering sustainable development through research. It collaborates with stakeholders, including local government units, state universities and colleges, and private sector partners, to implement research initiatives addressing key sectoral challenges.
In line with this, the partnership between ParSU, DOST-PCAARRD, and other collaborators, including Kochi University and the Department of Agriculture โ Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, aims to advance coastal resource conservation efforts further.
This MOA reflects the shared vision of promoting sustainable practices in coastal areas, focusing on fostering community involvement and collaboration in resource conservation.
With this, ParSU remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing research and innovation that directly supports local communities and continues to align its efforts to contribute to sustainable development through research and community engagement.
