With its commitment to enhancing its global capacity through research and innovation, Partido State University (ParSU) hosts the Symposium on Research and Innovation towards Competitiveness and Internationalization with the theme "Global Horizons: Navigating Research and Innovation for International Success in Higher Education," bringing together distinguished speakers from the government and partner organizations, tackling its strategies, challenges, and opportunities. 

In his welcome remarks, ParSU President Arnel B. Zarcedo, EDEL, emphasized the importance of research and innovation toward achieving global excellence. He encouraged everyone to explore how research and innovation can help ParSU meet international standards and create solutions that address the needs of its stakeholders. "It is about learning and sharing ideas, dreaming bigger for ParSU and ourselves."  he ended.

Day 1 of the event highlighted the global relevance of research and innovation, emphasizing the importance of expanding research growth potential. The keynote address, entitled "Research and Innovation for Internationalization and Competitiveness," was delivered by Commissioner Ethel Agnes Pascua-Valenzuela of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Chairperson of the ParSU Board of Regents. Her speech underscored the role of research in advancing internationalization and enhancing competitiveness in various sectors.
Additionally, Mr. Monchito B. Ibrahim, Executive Member of the National Innovation Council and Former Undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), took the stage to discuss Scaling Research and Innovation Ecosystem: Strategies, Challenges, and Opportunities providing invaluable insights into the strategies required to foster innovation ecosystems, discussing challenges and opportunities involved in scaling these ecosystems to achieve long-term growth and impact. The workshop and the collaborative meeting commenced in the afternoon, where participants identified and understood barriers to innovation, identified niche research areas, and crafted concept notes for research and innovation projects. 

Probing further into Research and Internationalization, Day 2 will feature talks on Research and Innovation for Internationalization: Challenges and Opportunities by Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and Batangas State University, the National Engineering University Executive Member of the National Innovation Council. Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, Chair of PASUC V and President of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), will share his insights on the CBSUA experience in internationalization. Workshops and collaborative meetings will continue with Aligning Institutional Resources and Performance Indicators and Formulating Actionable Policy Recommendations, Innovation Proposals, and Innovation Plans. The day will conclude with a presentation of selected outputs of the workshop and a collaborative meeting of the participants. 

The symposium aims to enhance knowledge and awareness while producing valuable workshop outputs that will guide the development of research programs, add value to products and processes, and establish policies and mechanisms to operationalize an innovation ecosystem in the Partido District's local industries. 

This initiative aligns with ParSU's vision of driving sustainable development in its service, promoting excellence among its faculty and staff, and the services provided to its stakeholders.
