Partido State University (ParSU) College of Business and Management (CBM) strengthened its support for local enterprises by bringing tax awareness and compliance closer to communities through the Linking Smallholder Farmers to Markets with Microfinance (LINKSFARMM): Tax Awareness and Compliance Readiness Program for SMEs, farmers, and cooperatives on March 19, 2026, held in a hybrid setup at the CBM Modern Classroom.
This initiative reflects ParSUโs continuing commitment to extension and community development by equipping local farmer groups and cooperatives with essential knowledge of legal business operations and tax compliance which are key factors in building sustainable enterprises and gaining access to formal markets, financing, and government support.
LINKSFARMM is a Department of Agrarian Reform initiative that organizes Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries into agro-enterprise clusters and connects them to appropriate markets. As an academic partner, ParSU CBM provides technical expertise in financial management, entrepreneurship, research, and product development, helping translate classroom knowledge into real-world solutions that uplift rural livelihoods.
The session is part of the broader LINKSFARMM capacity-building components designed to strengthen agribusiness knowledge and improve market readiness among farmers and cooperatives.
Participants included the Narra Settlement Tinambac Agriculture Cooperative, Canayonan Planters Agriculture Cooperative, and Magsaysay Planters Association of Tinambac, Camarines Sur. Resource speakers Harold Sabolarse, MM, CPA; Camille E. Bacares, CPA, JD; Juan Carlos W. Pura, CPA; and Atty. Rosaleo T. Rodriguez, CPA, shared practical guidance on business registration, tax compliance, and related requirements to help participants formalize and grow their operations.
Through programs like LINKSFARMM, ParSU strengthens its role as a catalyst for inclusive development โ ensuring that university expertise reaches communities that need it most and contributes directly to local economic progress.
