Partido State University (ParSU) joined fellow Bicol SUCs in a landmark consortium meeting and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kansas State University (K-State) on March 19, 2026 at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City. The engagement underscores Bicol SUCs commitment to research, innovation, academic exchange, and capacity building.
Co-hosted by Central Bicol State University (CBSUA), the engagement formalizes an international academic partnership aimed at advancing Philippine higher education through exchanges, joint research, faculty mobility, and the development of innovative programs.
Aligned with the CHED ACHIEVE Agenda, the collaboration reinforces ParSUโs commitment to internationalization, sustainable development, and institutional capacity building through global linkages.
Key representatives included President Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo together with International Affairs Director Leih Anne R. Odoรฑo for ParSU, alongside Manuel R. Reyes, Research Professor at the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab; Vara Prasad, University Distinguished Professor of Agriculture; Jonathan Aguilar, Professor and Extension Water Resource Engineer; and Sarah Maass, State Leader for Kansas 4-H Youth Development for K-State. Their expertise in global agricultural development, sustainable water management, and youth and extension programs presents meaningful opportunities for collaboration with ParSU.
Building on earlier partnerships, including a 2021 MOU among SUCs,the initiative reinforces sustained collab in research, innovation, academic exchange, and capacity building.
Through this global engagement, ParSU continues to position itself as a proactive institution that links local strengths with global expertise to create impactful, future-ready opportunities for its academic community.
