Partido State University (ParSU) reinforced its leadership in advancing quality assurance (QA) in higher education by participating in the 39th Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Annual National Conference and General Assembly 2026, held on March 24โ26 at Century Park Hotel, Malate, Manila.
The conference brought together over 100 State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) nationwide, providing a platform to shape policies, share best practices, and strengthen QA systems that ensure relevance, academic excellence, and global competitiveness. It also supported the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ACHIEVE Agenda, particularly its focus on harmonizing Sustainable Development Goalsโbased research, development, and innovation.
Anchored on the theme โAdvancing QA: Research, Science, and Technology for Transformative Education and Sustainable Development,โ ParSU administrators and personnel actively participated in the three-day event, gaining updated frameworks, global perspectives, and practical strategies to enhance QA practices across the University.
The event celebrated excellence through recognition of SUCs for institutional and program accreditation, as well as honors for quality champions, advocates, and accreditors. Notably, ParSU received its Plaque of Recognition for achieving Level III Institutional Accreditation from AACCUP, marking a significant milestone in the Universityโs sustained commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
The conference opened with key messages from AACCUP Executive Director Dr. Milabel E. Ho, AACCUP Board of Trustees President and Chair Dr. Anthony M. Peรฑaso, and CHED Commissioner Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, who highlighted QAโs crucial role in enhancing institutional effectiveness and promoting long-term growth in higher education.
Plenary sessions explored emerging directions in QA, demonstrating how advancements in science and technology continue to enhance teaching, learning, and institutional performance. SUC leaders discussed current challenges, policy directions, and collaborative initiatives, reinforcing the vital role of university leadership in sustaining QA efforts.
The conference also emphasized stakeholder engagement, international collaboration, and strategic partnerships as key drivers for strengthening QA systems and aligning local practices with global standards. Sessions on research-driven QA, institutional sustainability, and national policy directions, along with a panel discussion showcasing best practices from several SUCs, provided valuable insights for ParSUโs ongoing QA initiatives.
Participation in the conference strengthened ParSUโs capacity to meet evolving accreditation standards, improve program delivery, and expand institutional partnershipsโfurther advancing its mission to provide transformative, globally competitive education.
