September 22โ25, 2025
The Partido State University โ College of Environmental Science and Design (ParSU-CESD), represented by Dean Ms. Yolda Abante, actively participated in the Filipino Leaders in Advancing International Reputation (FLAIR) held on September 22โ25, 2025, at Pepperland Hotel, Legazpi City.ย
As a strategic platform, FLAIR equips higher education institutions with knowledge and tools to strengthen international linkages and enhance competitiveness in the areas of internationalization, research, and publicationโkey drivers of institutional excellence and global engagement.ย
Keynote speakers shared best practices in achieving recognition in global university rankings, including the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Stars Ratings, the Worldโs Universities with Real Impact (WURI), and the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. These global systems serve as benchmarks that establish a universityโs reputation, credibility, and visibility while fostering meaningful academic and institutional partnerships aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).ย
The discussions emphasized that institutions performing well in these rankings gain better access to international funding agencies and research collaborations. Strong performance increases research impact and publication visibility and positions universities as valuable contributors to global developmentโactively addressing challenges such as climate change, sustainability, and social equity.ย
FLAIR gathered representatives from public and private higher education institutions, including state universities and colleges, as well as community colleges across the Bicol Region.ย
ParSU CESDโs active participation reflects its commitment to advancing global competitiveness and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive future.
