Partido State University (ParSU) continues to expand its international research partnerships and welcomes Dr. Teruyuki Shinbo, Professor at the Laboratory of Environmental Change and Sustainable Society Division of Environmental Science, Graduate School of Kuroshio Science, Kochi University, Japan. His visit from September 9-15, 2025, builds on the ongoing collaboration between ParSU and Kochi University under the approved DOST-Grants-in-Aid research project on coastal resource management.
As part of his visit, Dr. Shinbo delivered a lecture to students and faculty of the College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Sagรฑay campus on โEconomic Evaluation Methodology for the Environment and Ecosystem Servicesโ yesterday, September 10, 2025, where he shared his expertise in environmental assessment and sustainable resource management. Today, he visited SUC President III Arnel B. Zarcedo, EDEL, to discuss ongoing and future collaborative initiatives and strengthen institutional ties.
In the coming days, he will participate in fieldwork activities under the research project, co-implemented by Kochi University and DA-BFAR Region II.
This international collaboration facilitates knowledge exchange, capacity-building, and interdisciplinary research, strengthening ParSUโs role in global research networks. By fostering cross-border partnerships and innovative approaches to coastal resource management, the University advances SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, while continuing its commitment to quality instruction, impactful research, responsive extension services, and internationalization for resilient and sustainable communities.
