Partido State University (ParSU), through its National Service Training Program, in coordination with the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Unit and the ParSU Medical Team, strengthened its emergency response capacity by conducting a First Aid, Basic Life Support, and Other Emergency Medical Response Training on August 21โ23, 2026.
Led by SSg Rey B. Sumayao (Inf) PA and CPL Bryan P. Bigata (Inf) PA as resource persons, the three-day training brought together ROTC medics, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management-San Jose Campus medics, cadet officers, and members of the ParSU Medical Team for intensive instruction and practical exercises in emergency response.
The training focused on essential interventions for medical emergencies and disaster situations, including patient assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) awareness, bleeding control, fracture and spinal injury management, emergency patient transport, triage, mass casualty incident response, and other life-saving techniques.
Through classroom instruction, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, scenario-based simulations, and competency assessments, participants applied these skills in simulated emergencies, strengthening their ability to assess conditions, make appropriate decisions, and provide timely assistance when immediate action is needed.
The training also strengthens ParSUโs pool of trained student responders and medical personnel who can contribute to emergency preparedness and response across the University. By building practical competencies alongside a culture of safety and shared responsibility, the initiative supports ParSUโs efforts to ensure its campuses are better prepared to respond to emergencies.
