Partido State University (ParSU), through its Quality Assurance Center (QAC), showcased its commitment to quality and excellence as its Goa Campus successfully underwent the Institutional Accreditation (IA) conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., from September 22-26, 2025.
The week-long activity began with an opening program followed by document reviews, interviews, and focus group discussions involving administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents, and community partners. Accreditors also conducted campus and facility inspections to validate resources and support systems. Beyond the formal evaluation activities, Cultural and Fellowship Night was held to showcase the creativity, talents, and identity of the University community. The IA culminated in an exit conference, where commendations and suggested enhancements were formally presented.
In her Statement of purpose, Team Coordinator Dr. Milabel E. Ho emphasized that ParSU proudly joins 30 other universities in pursuing institutional accreditation - ย a holistic process that affirms its commitment to everyday quality assurance and positions the University at par with national and international standards. She further urged, โ Let us continue this journey together and strive to make accreditation day, everyday, by putting our efforts and initiatives into doing what is right when nobody sees us.โย
In his acceptance and commitment message, University President Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo emphasized that IA affirms ParSU's governance, programs, research, extension, and support systems working harmoniouslyโenhancing focus, accountability, and credibility. He underscored that the preparation itself had already elevated service quality and efficiency. He concluded, "Quality is not an act we do only when assessed; it is our way of life. Everything we have done has prepared us for this moment, and everything we do moving forward will honor this commitment."
Among the commendations received were as follows: For Area I (Governance and Management), ParSU demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusivity through its Affirmative Action Program and Enhanced Admission Policy, particularly benefiting marginalized groups. Building on this, Area II (Curricular Programs) reflects the Universityโs drive for relevance and global competitiveness, ensuring curricula are aligned with international standards and supported by flexible learning modalities within an ISO 9001:2015-based management system.
Complementing these efforts, Area III (Faculty and Staff) highlights ParSUโs investment in people, as it upholds high standards through a comprehensive Faculty and Staff Development Plan that balances individual growth with institutional goals. This strong foundation further supports Area IV (Research), where the University strengthens knowledge creation through enhanced infrastructure, specialized facilities, and eight dedicated research centers.
In close connection, Area V (Extension, Consultancy, and Linkages) demonstrates how research is translated into impact, with marine conservation and fisheries management programs that merge evidence-based interventions with active community participation. Equally vital, Area VI (Support to Students) underscores ParSUโs commitment to inclusive education through targeted outreach and responsive student services, particularly for marginalized groups.
To sustain academic excellence, Area VII (Library) provides comprehensive digital and user-centered services, guided by regular feedback and international collaborations. This is reinforced by Area VIII (Infrastructure and Other Resources), where the University invests heavily in modern, sustainable facilities designed with green building principles and PWD accessibility in mind. Finally, all these efforts are tied together in Area IX (Quality Assurance), with a robust QA framework anchored in clear organizational structures and innovative digital systems that drive continuous improvement.
Notably, the Goa Campus has zero mandatory recommendations to comply with, affirming its robust systems and best practices with only suggested enhancements to further strengthen its quality assurance mechanisms.
The esteemed team of accreditors included Dr. Anthony M. Penaso for Area I, Dr. Suzette B. Lina for Areas II and III, Dr. Emily C. Arangote for Areas IV and V, Prof. Jocelyn T. Salviejo for Areas VI and VII, and Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon for Areas VIII and IX. Dr. Ho led the team assisted by Mr. Dominic T. Martinez and Ms. Merelyn G. Dela Cruz.
This milestone fosters greater trust, opens new opportunities, and strengthens ParSU's culture of quality. With zero mandatory recommendations from AACCUP, the Goa Campus is recognized for its excellence in governance and academic programs, research, student services, infrastructure, and quality assuranceโaffirming the strength of its programs and support systems.
Moving forward, ParSU targets all its other campuses to undergo the same process, ensuring that the University system as a whole upholds the same high standards of quality.
