Called to Excellence: The Making of a ParSU Topnotcher
A Rhojan Sabenorio Success Story
Like a tide that arrives without warning yet carries undeniable force, the news of Rhojan Sabenorio’s achievement came without fanfare.
A graduate of Partido State University (ParSU), he secured Rank 3 in the January 2026 Sanitary Engineers Licensure Examination — a milestone he first learned about after being woken by his roommates on the morning the results were released. Still half-asleep, he brushed it off — until moments later, he confirmed his name on the list of topnotchers.
What seemed like a simple moment carried the weight of years of discipline and preparation, shaped by a journey that began long before the results were posted.
A Beginning Marked by Disruption
Like many students of his generation, Rhojan's early college years were shaped by the uncertainties of the pandemic. The first half of his academic life unfolded through screens — detached and often uncertain.
“Being online for my first and second year was tough,” he recalls. “It was difficult to get the immediate clarity I needed from my professors through a screen.”
The absence of physical interaction posed a challenge not just to comprehension, but to connection. For a student who thrived in active learning , the limitations of remote education tested both his patience and adaptability.
Yet when face-to-face classes resumed, something shifted.
“I felt like I could finally breathe,” he shares.
Back in the classroom, Rhojan rediscovered the rhythm of learning—engaging directly with professors, exchanging ideas with peers, and grounding abstract concepts in real-time understanding. It was in this environment that his potential began to fully take shape.
The Seed of Excellence
While many aspire to simply pass, Rhojan set his sights higher early on.
“As early as my second year, I began aiming for the top,” he says.
For Rhojan, topping the board examination was never about prestige alone. It was, more importantly, a way of honoring the years he had invested in his education. This sense of purpose was reinforced by his professors, who saw in him a capacity for excellence and nurtured it deliberately.
“They planted the seed,” he reflects. “They reminded me that while topping the board requires immense sacrifice, it was possible.”
But beyond ambition and mentorship, Rhojan anchors his journey in something deeper — his faith.
“My greatest inspiration is the Lord,” he says. “Achieving this and giving the credit back to my Creator—that was my highest purpose.”
Discipline Rooted in Integrity
Behind the recognition lies a discipline that was both rigorous and principled.
Rhojan describes his mindset simply: work hard until understanding is achieved.
“If a concept was difficult, I wouldn’t stop until I understood it,” he explains. “I would seek help, ask questions, and try to see things from different perspectives.”
Yet beyond academic diligence, he approached his studies with a strong sense of integrity. For him, every quiz and examination was not merely a test of knowledge, but a reflection of character.
“I treated every exam as a test of my integrity,” he says. “I aimed for the highest grades possible while keeping my conscience clear.”
He did not study merely to pass. He studied to be worthy — of the profession he was entering, and of the purpose he believed he was called to fulfill.
Facing Doubt, Finding Balance
Even the most prepared are not immune to doubt.
“Doubt was a frequent visitor,” Rhojan admits.
The pressure of review, the magnitude of expectations, and the uncertainty of outcomes all weighed heavily at times. But instead of allowing these moments to derail him, he turned to practices that grounded and sustained him.
Whenever he felt overwhelmed, he turned to prayer, reaffirming his belief that his journey was guided and purposeful.
At the same time, he recognized the importance of rest. In the midst of intense preparation, he made a deliberate decision to set boundaries.
“I strictly kept Sundays as my rest day,” he shares. “It helped me recharge mentally and spiritually.”
For Rhojan, this balance between effort and renewal became critical in preventing burnout and maintaining consistency throughout the review period.
When Preparation Meets Purpose
The moment he saw his name among the topnotchers was more than just validation — but a release.
“It felt like a massive weight had been lifted,” he recalls.
Years of discipline, moments of doubt, and countless hours of preparation had finally culminated in something tangible. Yet even in that moment, Rhojan remained reflective about what truly made the achievement possible.
He identifies three defining factors.
First, his faith. “If you remove the Lord and the people He placed in my life from the equation, everything falls apart,” he says.
Second, the sense of direction he carried from the beginning, a belief that his path was not by chance, but intentionally laid out.
And third, the community that supported him: his family, friends, and mentors who stood with him throughout the journey.
The ParSU Advantage
At the center of Rhojan’s development is Partido State University (ParSU), which he credits as instrumental in shaping both his competence and character.
“ParSU provided the environment I needed to grow,” he emphasizes.
Beyond delivering the curriculum, his professors challenged him to go beyond his perceived limits. They cultivated not only his technical knowledge, but also the mindset required to face a national-level examination.
“They didn’t just teach,” he says. “They prepared me.”
Through a culture of rigor, mentorship, and purpose-driven learning, ParSU continues to produce graduates who are not only capable, but competitive on a national scale.
More than a Rank
Rhojan’s advice to aspiring examinees is grounded in experience: anchor your efforts on purpose, commit to disciplined and continuous learning, remain open to guidance, and stay humble.
“Success is much sweeter when you remain grounded and remember why you started,” he says.
Rhojan Sabenorio's story is not simply about placing third in a national examination. It is about a journey shaped by disruption and recovery, by discipline and doubt, by ambition anchored in something greater than self.
It is a story of becoming — of answering a call, staying the course, and rising through effort anchored in purpose.
In that sense, his achievement stands not only as a personal milestone, but as proof of what is possible when faith, perseverance, and the right environment converge.
