PSU, as the leading higher education institution in Partido, was tapped again to participate in this year’s workshop in crafting plans  for Livelihood, Education and Disaster Risk Reduction sectors with a goal of updating and revising the old program design and come up with a more appropriate and responsive community-shared plan for implementation in Lagonoy area.

The workshop was held last February 19-20 at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City and was sponsored by World Vision, a non-government international organization whose advocacy is to promote children’s rights and welfare all over the world.

World Vision’s Pathways of Change was brought to Lagonoy due to the efforts made by Mrs. Irene Resuena, a Lagonoyon resident and a deep believer that communal change will be made possible thru World Vision’s international linkages.  Since 2011, they started to conceptualize a program which caters to children’s nutrition in Lagonoy thru the concerted efforts of various entities in the community – local government units, labor sectors, government agencies, non-government organizations, business sector, health care sector and education sector, of which, PSU is a part.

Local residents of Lagonoy, DepEd teachers, local government employees, and PSU participants were present in the said workshop. Representatives from PSU were, Mrs. Rosemarie Tabardillo – Director, Extension Services, Ms. Sheila Amoroso – COED Extension Coordinator, and Mrs. Maria Pacamarra, Lagonoy campus Representative.  PSU’s participation in the said activity builds more confidence in actively attaining the university’s targets in delivering quality extension services to the people in Partido in nutrition, livelihood, education and disaster risk reduction sectors
