To increase the skills of faculty extension implementers in documenting extension projects and developing informational materials for dissemination, the Office of the University Extension and Community Services (OUECS) sponsored the Training on the Evaluation and Communication of Extension Project Results held on Sept. 10-12, 2019 at the ParSU Boardroom.
The activity was participated in by faculty extension implementers of the university. It was designed to enable the participants to describe the process of documenting extension projects; discuss the steps in the development of informational materials; describe the qualities of an effective informational material; and describe the current and proposed process of communicating and evaluating the results of extension activities in the university.

Prof. Patricia M. Candelaria, Vice President for Research, Extension and External Affairs, delivered a short message introducing the participants. The presentation of the rationale of the event was done by the Gender and Development Focal Person, Ms. Hazel Jean Pesino. Dr. Raul Bradecina, SUC President III, also gave his welcome remarks and was followed by the introduction of the resource speaker by the OUEC Director, Ms. Rosemarie Tabardillo.
Dr. Benedict O. Medina, a faculty extension implementer of Batangas State University (BatSU) served as the resource speaker of the event. Dr. Medina delivered a lecture on Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Services of the University. He defined IEC, gave examples, taught how to plan IEC activities, describe the appropriate communication channels and tools to use, and also gave tips for an effective IEC campaign. The participants were then tasked to create their own IEC campaign plan, which was later presented during the end of the workshop.

On the second day, Dr. Medina’s lecture focused on Documenting Extension Service Program, Project, and Activities (PAP). He imparted information on the importance of documenting PAPs, approaches in documenting extension activities, and best practices of documentation. The second day ended with the awarding of certificate of appreciation to the resource speaker by Knowledge Management Officer Mr. Charlie V.
