The University through the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) sponsored a Seminar-Training on Government Procurement System with Updates on RA 9184 and its IRR on June 27-28, 2019 at the 2nd Floor of ParSU Canteen.

HRD Director, Ms. Chona B. Masalunga gave the rationale of the event which aimed to orient concerned personnel on the government procurement system, salient features and updates on the RA 9184 and its IRR, and other relevant topics that are useful to the participants which include campus and college deans, unit heads, and some faculty-researchers.

 

Dr. Ronnel Atole, ParSU Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairperson, formally started the training by delivering a discourse on the Fundamentals of Government Procurement System, highlighting the principles and key-features of government procurement law and processes. Dr. Atole also introduced the BAC team and the basic function/s of each member.

 

Department of Budget and Management – Region V (DBM-ROV) Regional Director, Renato M. De Vera, served as the resource speaker, who explained the topics: Public and Competitive Biddings and Alternative Mode of Procurement. Dir. De Vera focused on infrastructures but opened the floor for inquiries about procurement of goods/services as well.

 

 

After the open forum, the first day ended with the awarding of certificate of appreciation to Dir. De Vera by Dr. Raul G. Bradecina, SUC President III.

A recapitulation of the first day activity was delivered by Engr. Felipe B. Primavera, Engineer II/TWG Chair-Infra, followed by the discussion of the fourth topic that was PPMP Preparation by the Head of Procorument Office, Mr. Jefferson O. Coruno.

The Procurement and BAC office organized a workshop in the afternoon session of the second day followed by the awarding of certificate of appreciation to Dr. Atole and Mr. Coruno by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Josefina A. Borromeo, and Vice President for Research, Extension, and External Affairs, Prof. Patrica M. Candelaria.
