The Partido State University recently forged a partnership with the University of California in Los Angeles particularly the Department of Archaeology, through Dr. Stephen Acabado, UCLA faculty, and Mr. Earl John Hernandez, PSU College of Arts and Science faculty.

Last June 30 - July 6, 2019, Dr. Acabado, together with Dr. Francisco Datar of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, six undergraduate and five graduate students from UCLA, University of Hawaii and University of Washington, visited the Partido State University to conduct archaeological research in Camarines Sur.

To maximize the presence of the two academic scholars, a lecture series was hosted by the School of Graduate Studies. The first lecture was about "Teaching Science & Critical Thinking" by Dr. Datar, Professor VI of the Department of Anthropology of UPD, on July 4, 2019. The second was about "Colonialism & Meta-Narratives in the Philippines: Rethinking History Through Archaeology" by Dr. Acabado, Associate Professor of UCLA, last July 5, 2019. The lectures were attended by PSU faculty, students and guests; and facilitated by Mr. Hernandez and Dr. Bernadette Gumba, Dean of the Graduate School.
